A no-hype review of the Salehoo Wholesale Directory

There are endless products and books devoted to the topic of making money online. You can easily spend your entire life searching through them, trying to make sense of it all. The latest one I’ve run across is a site called Salehoo. This site claims to offer access to suppliers for more than 75 categories of merchandise, including jewelry, electronics, and designer items. Furthermore, Salehoo has suppliers who can manufacture, sell wholesale, and even dropship. With sources like these, they claim, you can make money in a number of ways, including making sales on eBay.

I’m always looking for ways to make some extra money. After all, who isn’t? I decided to check Salehoo out and see if they really are “all that” and whether or not the purchase price of membership is worthwhile.

Is Salehoo really all it’s cracked up to be?

There were four things I needed to know about the Salehoo:

• Can you really find wholesale sources there?
• Are the prices good?
• What else do I get for my money?
• Is the product fairly priced?

Salehoo is a membership site; you pay a one-time fee and you’re in. For the price of membership, you get the following:

• Access to the constantly updated wholesale list. This changes regularly, as new companies are added and others dropped.
• Access to suppliers who will drop ship to your customers so that you don’t have to handle the merchandise.
• Access to a private members forum, where you can get hints and tips from other members. This is particularly useful if you are interested in knowing about a particular vendor before buying.
• Tips and helpful advice about buying wholesale. If you’ve never dealt with Chinese manufacturers, it can be helpful to have this sort of information available to you.
• Bonus “Salehoo Alert” software.

Not only does Salehoo have an extensive database of wholesalers, but they will even help find one for you if you are looking for a particular product for which they currently don’t have a source. They also have closeout specials from time to time as well as other special offers such as sales with reduced minimum purchase quantities. This can come in handy if you want 20 of something when the manufacturer has a minimum order of 200.

Salehoo can be a great source of information if you have a retail outlet, either online or a traditional brick and mortar type. It can be difficult to find wholesale sources for a lot of things, and the company seems to have answers to most of the questions people have when looking for sources of goods.

If there’s a downside to the program, it might be the emphasis of using their sources for selling on eBay. You might be able to make money that way, but eBay is becoming more and more competitive and it’s harder than ever to make money there selling new merchandise. If you have a Website, however, this is just the ticket.

The bottom line? Salehoo represents a good value for the money. You get constantly updated sources for products, including sources that will dropship, access to specials that aren’t available to the public, and access to their members forum, with some 30,000+ people who can help you out. All of this comes for a reasonable, one time fee.
